2020 has been a pretty tumultous year so far, with a worldwide pandemic, and the UK exiting from its 50 year relationship with the EU. Set against this backdrop Chancellor Sunak had a tough job simply to deliver a budget that anyone could get excited about. Indeed it is a budget primarily designed to soften the blow from the economic impact from COVID-19 with help for firms and individuals dealing with home working, self isolation, and possible catastrophic levels of illness.
