MasterChef of Investing

Sometimes a good analogy helps with understanding how complex things work.  The deeper appreciation of something familiar can be used to extend our understanding into areas which are superficially less easy to assimilate.  So it is with investment.  Many view the markets are something incredibly complex; imprenetrable to the layman.  Here Jim Parker, Vice President at Dimensional Fund Advisers uses MasterChef, a TV show which is perhaps less complex; to aid in understanding the key principles to successful investing.  Whilst the availability and pricing of Avocado Pears may not seem intuitively connected to investment, it turns out that by choosing not to include them when out of season, you may be securing a more profitable investment future for you and your family.
