Based on 30 years as a financial planner, one of my most useful attributes is the ability to bring clarity and transparency to complex and opaque situations. It’s also imperative to have a questioning mindset and to be a powerful listener.

Besides being a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, I’m a specialist in Pension Transfers, Lifetime Mortgages and Long-Term Care Planning. I strongly believe that qualifications and experience are important differentiators in ensuring that we continue to give excellent financial advice.

I am a firm advocate of holistic financial planning and the importance of utilising lifestyle cashflow software cannot be understated. I derive immense personal satisfaction from helping many of our clients transform their financial wellbeing.

Our Typical Client Profile

Most of our clients visit us within our listed premises in Saffron Walden, “The Old Gunrooms” which is a wonderful historic building. The majority of our clients are based within the surrounding counties of Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Essex plus a large number who live in London. We also provide a service to a number of “ex-pats”.

Walden Capital’s Investment Committee

I am also a member of Walden Capital’s investment committee which can call upon the institutional expertise of its members all of whom have invested a significant portion of their wealth within our model portfolios. I am immensely proud of the consistency of returns achieved for our clients over the past 10 years and we are data contributors to the Asset Risk Consultants Private Client Indices (ARC) which enables us to place our investment performance into context.

A Personal Note

Outside of work, I am Chair at Saffron Walden Swimming Club (‘Seals’), and coach the growing Masters’ section there. I also enjoy training at the local boxing club and have recently taken to competing in “mudder events” which can be quite brutal but highly satisfying.
