Cast In Iron

Many people think that the secret to successful investing is to identify a trend and follow it.  The problem with this strategy is that identifying a trend is often only possible towards the end of a long bull run, with the result that those who jump on the bandwagon, are jumping on towards the end of the line, and (to mix a metaphor) just before the train wreck that is coming.  Predicting the future is difficult, very difficult, and here Jim Parker, Vice President of Dimensional Fund Advisors examines how it has worked in practice a couple of times, and what a better route to long term financial success might look like.
