Brexit - a guide
With the triggering of article 50 now well behind us, and a general election campaign upon us - albeit somewhat muted compared to last time, we at Walden Capital thought it a good time to have a look at some of the implications and effects of our impending exit from the European Union. 45 years of legislation is not undone in a day - with much of it needed replacing with something else, as the legislation that went before it has been replaced by 'Euro friendly' versions.
We are beginning to see some of the claimed impacts beginning to appear, with several investment banks now saying they will relocate very signficant numbers of staff into the Eurozone proper - with a battle starting between Paris and Frankfurt to be the new European financial centre.
For the UK centric investor it is unclear what to do for the best - we strongly believe that continuing to remain broadly invested across a wide range of diversified assets, managed in line with your attitude and ability to accept risk is likely to provide you with the most appropriate investment experience, although of course past performance is not a guide to future performance, and no particular rate of return can be guaranteed.
