Unless you’re Nostradamus, you don’t know what the future holds. We’re not and we don’t. Daily life continually throws little surprises in our way. Sometimes these are good news, many of us have bought a scratch card and won £10. Sadly, Walden Capital cannot give you much hope of winning more, and we do not regard the lottery as any form of investment.
However, sometimes these surprises aren’t so good. No one is guaranteed good health, or even a long and happy life and if something happens that means your world is upended it can be disastrous for you, your family and all your plans for the future.
Everybody has car insurance, and most of us have house insurance, for both the fabric of the building and all our belongings. But many fewer have the personal protection insurances in place for the most important asset your family has (you, in case you’re wondering), that would mean your family is protected if lightning really does strike, and life changes fundamentally.
Our handy guide into what insurances are available and how they work will probably not be the most upbeat document you read this year, but it may be one of the most important.
Whether it is having insurance in place, or simply the basic planning of having a valid and up to date will and lasting powers of attorney, this ‘life admin’ is important, and at Walden Capital we have been highlighting that importance and reminding our clients to get this housekeeping done for a decade.
